Who Is The Rotary Club of Brockton?

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service and help to build goodwill and peace in the world. The Brockton Club was established in 1918 and we have been continuously serving the community since our inception. We are a non-profit organization, and we rely on the voluntary service commitment of our members to advance the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self". Our membership is comprised of leading citizens and business people in the community who are willing to commit some time and effort to improve the world in which we all live.

We are one of over forty-six thousand clubs established in two hundred countries throughout the world. We are one of the 64 Clubs in the Rotary District 7950 which is part of Rotary International. With over 1.4 million members world-wide, we are a formidable force for humanitarian improvement. Throughout the years we have been involved in global projects of immense proportions - eradicating polio, fostering peace through international scholarships and exchange programs, and addressing such critical issues as poverty, hunger, health, illiteracy, and the environment. On a local level we have been very active in supporting the Brockton Council on Aging, My Brother’s Keeper, The Charity Guild, Old Colony YMCA, Family & Community Resources, Inc., the United Way of Greater Plymouth, the Boys & Girls Club of Metro South, New Heights Charter School, and the Brockton Public School system and many more. Our commitment to education is shown each year with Academic Scholarships and a Toolship Grant for students in the four local high schools.

We, as a collective group have changed the lives of thousands making their day a little easier and their future a lot brighter. The feeling of accomplishment and being part of an organization such as Rotary is most gratifying for all the men and women who belong. New friends and contacts will be made and more importantly you will become a cog in the Rotary Wheel to Make a Difference. We thank you for allowing us the opportunity to present you with some information about Rotary. We hope that we have piqued your interest and that you may consider becoming a member of our club. We would be most pleased to have you join us for lunch at the Thorny Lea Golf Club, we meet the 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month, at noon to see what we are all about.
